The non-refundable application fee for undergraduates is 17,000yen while the fee for graduates is at 30,000yen. These fees are liable to constant changes as well.
Applicants are required to submit results for the field of study they intend to apply for, from any of the following.
- International Baccalaureate (IB), SAT or G.C.E (‘A’ level diploma).
- National standardized examinations or its equivalent in your country e.g Examination for Japanese University (EJU).
Most requirements are based on the program you intend to apply for and the basic EJU scores depend on the program.
Applicants who have been given a degree equal to a bachelor’s degree after they completed a curriculum that has its sessions divided into 3 terms or maybe longer at a university or any other higher institution in a foreign country. This is inclusive of situations where-by an applicant finished the curriculum by taking courses conducted by the institution through distance learning when the student was in Japan e.g Online schools.
Students applying for PhD degrees of the University need to have obtained a master’s degree or its equivalent degree, or He/She expects to obtain such a degree by September 2017. If the graduated foreigner Has been recognized as having achieved an academic equal of an Msc degree of Tohoku, through an educational program offered at, the international University or an educational institution that has the entire coursework of a graduate system there will be no need for an Equivalency Exam but if otherwise, the University will perform an equivalency exam through in its screening.
Admissions for International Students
The Future Global Leadership (FGL) program has three undergraduate courses on offer taught entirely in English in the following areas; Molecular Chemistry, Marine Biology and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
If you must join one of the Japanese courses, you will submit your application in April. You can start your preparations by going through the Examination for Japanese University (EJU) by June or November.
International applicants who intend to enter Japan must first obtain a valid passport with, a visa that has been stamped on. As you enter into Japan, these documents will be examined by the immigration officer around who will then decide the Status of your stay and how long you can stay, after which your paper will stamped. It’s only after all these procedures that an international student can school at the University.
to get your Status of Residence, you must have a Certificate of Eligibility (COE). After this you’re advised to go to the closest Embassy to you and meet the Consulate-General of Japan so as to proceed to obtaining a visa.
The English Proficiency tests, TOEFL IBT/ TOEFL PBT minimum scores should be 79 or more than for TOEFL IBT and 550 or over for TOEFL PBT, while for the IELTS must be 60 and above.
If you attended for fewer or an in-complete number of years at a middle/ high school, you are to submit a written certificate from your schools principal or the head.
