The 96-year-old institution has well over 45 major and minor degrees on offer for undergraduate students both locally and internationally. The fields of studies include courses in management, arts, science.
They also offer two after-degree programs for those willing to pursue careers in education, especially teaching; three master’s degree courses and diplomas or certificates in several courses.
Admission Requirements for international Students
International students who are interested in liberal arts, management and humanities can take advantage of the excellent bachelor’s degree program on offer.

Getting ready to apply
The first step before applying to CUE is to look up the admission deadlines, programs and courses on offer. It is advisable to apply early as processing official transcripts and work permit application might take a bit of time to complete.
The next step is to apply at www.applyalberta.ca. The application fee for international students is just $100. This fee must be paid before any application is sent to CUE.
English Language Requirement for international students
All international students for whom English language is not a first language must show evidence of proficiency in English.

Documents to be submitted
While applying online, international students must attach the following documents to the application
- Proof that you have fulfilled the English language requirement for international students
- Copies of official transcripts or results from any secondary, post-secondary and high schools attended. It is better to include only transcripts relevant to the application.
Applying for study permit
After evaluating and processing the submitted documents, CUE would notify applicants in writing if their application was successful. All eligible students are then issued
- Letter of Admission
- Letter of Acceptance for immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
These letters should be submitted to the Canadian Consulate in the applicant’s country to ease the process of getting a study permit and a visa to Canada.
Payments and fees
All eligible student are expected to make the following payment at the beginning of the academic year
Pre-registration deposit – All international students have to pay this deposit to secure their class schedule for their chosen program.
The amount is $2,500 and should be paid at the time registration.
Tuition and other fees – Tuition fees should be paid on or before the first day of classes. The amount is approximately $6,700.50 per semester for students enrolled for five courses each semester.
This amount covers tuition, fees for international students and other mandatory fees. However, it does not include books, lab fees or fees related to specific courses.
International students are automatically registered in the Student’s Association Health and Dental Plan throughout their stay in the University.
This plan covers insurance for prescription drugs, dental care, eye treatment and much more.
However, this medical insurance is not mandatory. Students can choose not to be part of it if they show proof they have proper medical insurance coverage from a different provider.
