The thought of studying abroad can be exciting, therefore, any foreign student who desires a successful application must endeavour to carry out research on the things required from the school he/she has chosen.
There’re other necessary things you need to consider before you begin your admission process. Going to school abroad is not really cheap. There are however, schools with low tuition fees. In as much as these schools appear affordable to you, it is still important to know the general requirements of the school you wish to attend.
If you’ve passed the stage of selection: That is you’ve chosen a school and program, you will need to provide documentation which proves that you have the minimum amount of money estimated as being necessary by the school.
Schools require new students to submit proof of sufficient funding to cover the period of study. Acceptable forms of proof of funding are a letter from your sponsor (if applicable) and/or a bank statement from the person providing funds. You should also receive a letter or invoice from your institution stating the full cost of the course and the arrangements for payment available.
All financial documents should be in English or translated into English by a certified translator. Ask your bank to calculate and specify the foreign currency equivalent on your bank statement. Your name should be clearly indicated on each document of support. If you need to send an e-mail or letter to the school regarding the admissions process, refer to our Resource Library where there are sample letters for you to use.
