There were times when students and teachers both were relied on their course books for quality education. But, today the scenario has been changed as books are being replaced with internet as vibrant medium for education. The debate is there that whether internet is a more reliable or accurate source than books for education. Well some in the academics think it is, while others say it is not as it is more informative and less accurate. The same argument is being investigated here by making a comparison between books and internet to find out that which source is more ideal for quality education.
Books vs Internet- Organization and Information
On internet searches on academics lead to multiple sources and sites. Nobody knows of which source is academic, professional, scholarly or commercial as everything is provided mixed up on internet and its search engine forums. It is like everything is there on internet but the one significant thing missing is “organization” of information”, which causes real trouble for students to find their academic material. Students are unable to find their kind of content as they are presented with bunch of sites on searches but not the real sites that are useful for their subjects. Finding the material related to your topic is kind of a hectic on internet, as this requires literacy and awareness of internet searching.
Books on the other hand are convincing to provide comprehensive information, and information which a student exactly looks for. Books are designed in accordance to what a student could understand, and could relate to his or her life instance. Books are better organized with subject, idea, information and conception, which are things really missing on internet and its outspread sources. Books are complete in essence and elaboration, in gesture and comprehension, which some how or the other are attributes difficult to find on internet. This is how, it would not be wrong to say that books in comparison to internet are ideal for their organization, a fundamental thing required for quality education.
Books vs Internet- Diversity and Inclusion
It is often that books or even a newspaper could not be carried away by a student and a professional, to earn some knowledge. The need at this time is of a gadget that has internet and could illuminate on everything that is going around the globe. This is what internet does more vibrantly than books, it gives knowledge about all the world happenings in just one press of a button. For instant and fast learners, internet gives the ideal exchange of knowledge and information, more purposive exchange that a book reader could ever think of. Knowledge based on diversity and inclusion is easily found on internet, which on books is even harder to find. In this contemporary period of globalization, where education is more than just going to school or college and attaining lectures, internet provides the ideal access to quality education.
The conclusion drawn from the above assessment is that a merger of books and vibrant internet has to be made. This is what scholars of today think and assert, that combining both mediums, an optimum chance of quality education could be cultivated. This needs to be done for coming generations, for those who will be needing knowledge more eagerly than previous generations.
