The republic of China is gaining recognition as a top Global education hotspot in the world today. There has been significant increase in enrolments and as a results, The Chinese Government is investing in the expansion of educational infrastructure, as well as financial grants to support Universities that provide Scholarships to international students. One of such astounding Scholarships offered, is the Schwarzman Scholarships. First of its kind, this is a full tuition scholarship which aims to develop global leaders, by bringing together bright minds for a one year Master’s’ degree programme at Tsinghua University, Beijing. Beneficiaries will undergo series of workshops and engaging leadership lessons that will sharpen their skills, as they get further advantages in the form of meaningful networks. The major subject areas include Economic and Business, Public Policy and International Studies. In all, there will be 125 Scholars for this year’s September class, with compositions as follows; 45% from the USA, 20% from China and the remaining 35% for the rest of the world.
Scholarship inclusions:
As an inaugural class, you are provided with a 100% coverage, implying that all major and even minors’ educational expenses will be taken care of. These include tuition fees, return flights to China, accommodation, health insurance, and a reasonable stipend to use for discretionary expenses among others. Quintessential learning materials are also covered, for example; a Lenovo laptop, books and supplies, a smartphone etc. will be given to you.
Eligibility:
You should hold a first degree from an accredited University or equivalent. But if you are yet to complete your first degree, it is expected that by August 1, 2017, you should have completed all your course requirements, as orientation begins in September 2017. The various fields do not come with specific requirements but applicants must articulate why the Showman scholarship can empower them sharpen their leadership skills. The age range is 18-29 years.
English Language Proficiency
Since all subjects are taught in English, applicants must demonstrate a strong capacity to cope with the Language as a medium of instruction. If you are a non-native English speaker, or have not had English used as the medium of teaching in your previous schools, you are required to produce test scores to serve as a proof of proficiency. Standard international tests like TOEFL, TOEFL PBT, TOEFL iBT and IELTS would be accessed.

Application instructions:
There are two timelines for this application. The first part spans from March 13, 2016 to June 15, 2016, which is open for all applicants from the Asian diaspora; China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. For all other applicants, the deadline is September 15 and applications open on April 15, 2016
