ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship is offered in form of grants and research promotion for international students except Austrians for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs. Grants offered could be semester grants, one year grants or research grants. Scholarships are also offered for research periods at scientific research institutions in Austria such as Austrian Academy of Sciences, National Archive, National Library and Universities.
The scholarship has the following benefits:
Scholarship holders are provided with accommodation which could be in the form of an apartment or student dormitory. Depending on how comfortable the scholarship holder needs the accommodation to be it could cost about 220-470 Euros. The scholarship will cover the cost of the accommodation.
Scholarship holders will also be provided with health and accident insurance. The scholarship will cover the cost of the insurance.
A monthly scholarship payment of 940 Euros
Applicants who are not members EU, EEA, EFTA or OECD can be given a travel allowance. The amount to be given depends on the country of the applicant.
It should be noted that the scholarships are awarded for the period of 1-4 months.
The program is open to citizens of all countries except Austria and they must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants should be descendants of forced labourers despite their country of origin or they should be people who come from countries that have suffered tremendously from the Nazi regime, majorly from the recruitment of labourers.
- Candidates who meet the above criteria can apply to enroll for research based on the following, bachelor thesis, diploma or master thesis or their dissertation.
- Applicants interested in the grant should not have studied, done a research or academic work in Austria in the last six months.
- Doctoral students should not be more than 40 years old while other students should not be more than 35 years old.

HOW TO APPLY
Applications are done online with the following documents needed in the applications.
Fully completed application form with a CV and project plan showing plans for research stay in Austria
Two letters of recommendation from lecturers in the university which should not be older than six months after application
Scanned passport with name and picture of applicant
Confirmed supervision at a chosen Austrian University, University of applied science or Research Institute
Evidence of study of a program at a university outside Austria
Evidence should be shown by descendants of forced labour
