Nicolaus Copernicus University, established in 1945 is one of the largest universities in Poland, with 17 faculties (together with 3 medical faculties at Collegium Medicum UMK in Bydgoszcz). The university offers graduate and postgraduate programmes for almost 25 000 students, offering education in over 100 fields of study and 65 postgraduate courses. The university participates in student and staff exchange programs at both international (the Erasmus program) and national (the MOST program) levels.

How to apply for admission
Here are the admission steps to follow:
- Create an account in DreamApply (click here). Apply for a programme. While entering data remember that your correspondence address will be the address for sending original invitation letter.
- Provide your data and upload scans of documents mentioned below in your personal DreamApply account. After all required documents are uploaded, submit the application.
- Pay admission fee (85 PLN) to NCU bank account(bottom of the page) – 150 PLN for programmes with practical exams – ask us which ones.
- Wait for any comments from the Department of International Cooperation. If the documentation is complete and an admission fee is paid, your application will be reviewed by the Faculty.
- If necessary, the Faculty will ask you to come for an interview or practical exam.
Admission requirements
Documents in foreign languages must be translated into Polish or English by a sworn translator. All documents have to be uploaded in the Dream Apply system.

Full-time Bachelor studies (1st cycle) and long-cycle studies:
- Candidate must provide a certificate of completing secondary education in the country of origin entitling his/her to undertake university-level education with a transcript of records containing grades and names of subjects. Certificate must be affixed with apostille* or legalized and translated into Polish or English by a sworn translator**.
- Health certificate stating that there are no objections to undertake studies by a candidate (if required by the Faculty)
- Confirmation of health insurance and accident insurance (e.g. European Health Insurance Card).
- 2 colour photographs. One of them must be digital and attached to the application for admission.
- Copy of an ID (e.g. passport). The candidate will be obliged to show the original document mentioned above along with visa (if applicable)
- Certificate of proficiency in the English language at least at B2 level. If you do not have a document from the list below, but own other certificates, the Faculty is allowed to ask for an interview verifying language skills. Accepted documents:
- Confirmation on the certificate that the medium of instruction during secondary education was entirely English
- International Baccalaureate Diploma
- European Baccalaureate
- FCE (First Certificate in English), CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English)
- TOEFL iBT – at least 72 points, TOEFL CBT at least 180 points
- IELTS – 5.5 and above

RECOGNITION OF CERTIFICATES FOR NON-EU STUDENTS
Full-time Master studies (2nd cycle):
- Candidate must provide a diploma issued in the country of origin entitling his/her to undertake university-level education with a supplement containing grades and names of subjects. The diploma must be affixed with apostille* or legalized and translated into Polish or English by a sworn translator**.
- Health certificate stating that there are no objections to undertake studies by a candidate (if required by the Faculty).
- Confirmation of medical expenses and accident insurance (e.g. European Health Insurance Card).
- 2 colour photographs. One of them must be digital and attached to the application for admission.
- Copy of an ID (e.g. passport). The candidate will be obliged to show the original document mentioned above.
- Certificate of proficiency in the English language at least at B2 level. If you do not have a document from the list below, but own other certificates, the Faculty is allowed to ask for an interview verifying language skills. Accepted documents:
- A diploma in English Languages
- Confirmation that the medium of instruction during studies was English
- International Baccalaureate Diploma
- European Baccalaureate
