Mount Allison University: ‘’Mount A’’ as is fondly called is a public university located in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada. It was established in 1839 with the mission to create and disseminate knowledge in a community of higher learning mainly for undergraduates. Mount Allison University became a degree-granting intuition in 1862 and graduated the first set of grandaunts in 1863.
Mount Allison University is one of the popular Canadian universities with a special interest in liberal art and sciences. The Purdy Crawford Centre for the Arts opened in 2014, equipped with specialized studios and classrooms for fine arts and drama, as well as a 100-seat theatre. The main athletics field, Alumni Field, underwent a major transformation, switching from grass to artificial turf and acquiring new bleachers. Mawita’mkw, a designated Indigenous gathering space and home to the Elder-in-Residence program, opened in the student centre, and a newly renovated life sciences research centre opened in fall 2018, consolidating research in environmental and life sciences and providing hands-on opportunities for students.

• Fine Arts: This program balances the intellectual and hands-on exploration of the visual arts; courses are taught by practising artists and art historians.
• Commerce: Focused on experiential learning, this bachelor’s program features small classes, internship opportunities and entrepreneurship projects.
• Aviation: In partnership with the Moncton Flight College, this bachelor of science program covers geography, math, computer science and physics, while allowing students to obtain their commercial pilot’s licence.
Special Courses
• Indigenous Peoples: Ecology, Science and Technology: This geography and environment-course examines the relationship between different groups of Indigenous peoples and their environment, and looks at how variation in natural resources has led to various scientific developments and technological innovations.
• Time: This course explores the meaning and relevance of time from the perspectives of four different disciplines: religion and philosophy, physics, biology and music.
