Proof of financial hardship
Since scholarships are generally given to the less privileged, the scholarship committee will like to see a documented proof of financial hardship before they can start working on your application. This document can come in the following form;
- A certified copy of your latest task assessment notice and a statutory declaration stating that you do not rely on others for your financial support.
- If you are financially dependent on others, a certified copy of the latest task assessment notices for all those who contribute to your support.
If in your application, you have experienced drought, bushfires, floods, supporting documents of details of this should also be provided if possible.
Two reference letters
These are letters people write for you, attesting to your good conduct. It is important t you only choose people that know you very well as the scholarship committee might want to contact them to get certain information about you. Always choose one lecturer that knows you well and one of your relatives preferable your uncle.
Some scholarship awarding bodies may require an offer letter, expecially if the scholarship is awarded by a school authority. So you have to read the scholarship instructions well, to know if you are to attach your offer letter with your application .
