Hunter Water Corporation offers undergraduate scholarships for enrolling in a course offered through the Newcastle Business School, School of Environmental & Life Sciences or School of Engineering. Up to four scholarships will be offered which offers the benefit of $5,000. This is payable in two installments of $2,500, after each relevant census date. The second payment is subject to review of eligibility. Subject to availability, Hunter Water may also offer recipients opportunities to engage with the organisation through mentoring or site visits. The application deadline is 7 March, 2014.
Scholarships will be awarded for courses offered through either the Newcastle Business School, School of Environmental & Life Sciences or School of Engineering. Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate degree at Newcastle University.
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:
-Be enrolled in your first undergraduate degree program or Be enrolled in a course offered through either the Newcastle Business School, School of Environmental & Life Sciences or School of Engineering
-Not hold another scholarship of equivalent or more substantial benefit
-Be enrolled full-time
-Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or the holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa
-Must have lived in a community serviced by Hunter Water during the past 12 months ie within the area bounded by Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Port Stephens, Maitland, Dungog, Cessnock, and parts of Singleton
Selection will be on the basis of:
-Academic Merit, namely ATAR or GPA
-Evidence of hardship, including Financial Disadvantage, Health Concerns, Disability, Indigenous, or Career Responsibilities will be considered
-A written statement outlining their career aspirations (An interest in water would be advantageous).
