Academy of Research and Higher Education (ARES) has scholarship programs for developing countries. University Commission for development (CUD) Belgium is offering master and training scholarships to students from developing countries for the 2015/2016 session.
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
Through the Belgian policy for development, the Directorate General for Development Cooperation and the Minister for Development cooperation have put in charge the Belgian Higher Education Institutions to ensure that they set up postgraduate programmes and training programmes that are tailored towards fresh professionals from developing countries.
ARES provides 220 scholarships. 150 scholarships for those who will take part in the master’s programmes and 70 for those who will take part in the training programmes.
FIELD OF STUDY
The scholarship will provide for the following subject areas
Master complementary Food Science and Technology,
Master in Transfusion Medicine, European Microfinance Programme,
Master complementary Crop Protection tropical and subtropical,
Advanced Master in International and Development Economics,
Master in Development, Environment and Society,
Master in Public Health Methodology complementary
Master complementary Aquaculture,
Master complementary Transport Management,
Master in Public Health – Health and Development,
Master of Science and supplemental, Environmental Management in Developing Countries
Master complementary Managing animal and plant resources in tropical,
Master complementary Managing Natural Hazards
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must have a degree that is equal to a Belgian degree. There are cases where universities have different admission requirements which are specified.
Applicants must be less than 40 years old for master programmes and less than 45 years for training programmes at the start of the programme
Applicants should have professional experience of a minimum of two years at the completion of their studies and also a minimum of three years professional experience at the completion of their studies, especially where applicants obtained their degree from an industrial country.
Applicants must be able to speak French fluently as well as write French very well in order to be able to cope with courses taught in another language. Also applicant will have to study French to able to cope with life in Belgium.
To able to apply for grants from CUD, applicants should no obtain admission to one of the French speaking Universities.
