ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
The Aga Khan Foundation provides scholarship for postgraduate studies to excellent students from developing countries that are not able to fund their studies. The scholarships are awarded in two phases, fifty percent is given in the form of a grant while the other fifty percent is given in the form of a loan. A guarantor is needed to co-sign the loan agreement. The loan will be paid back with a yearly service charge of 5% and must be paid back within five years which starts after six months of the commencement of the program. The foundation will consider applications for PhD programs but only in cases if the students are excellent and are greatly recommended by their professors for PhD studies.
Scholarships can be taken in the following countries Mozambique, Madagascar, France, Portugal, UK, USA and Canada, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda.

The foundation helps students with tuition fees
The foundation helps students with living expenses
Consideration is given more to students who source for funds with the foundation helping with the rest of the funds
FIELD OF STUDY
The scholarship is offered in the following courses: Economic Development, Humanitarian Assistance, Education and Music, Architecture, Health, Civil Society, Planning & Building, Culture, Rural Development.
Applications are accepted from citizens from the following countries Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar and Mozambique.
Applicants must be living in countries that have Aga Khan Foundation offices to help with applications and interview
Consideration is given to students under the age of 30
HOW TO APPLY
Applicants are to apply by picking up forms from the Aga Khan Foundation offices in their countries of residence every year as from January 1st, fill and submit the form where it was collected or to the address shown on the front of the form. Generally application deadline is March 31 2015. Applicants should note that in some countries, deadlines could be earlier in order to sort and review applications. Therefore applicants should contact the office in their residence for the deadline.
