The University of York is offering several scholarships, bursaries and awards to international students who are interested in enrolling for undergraduate courses at the university
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
Awards offered to students include International Entrance Scholarships, Global Leader of Tomorrow Scholarships, United World College Scholarship as well as ‘’No Application’’ scholarships. It should be noted that these awards require an application while there are others that do not require an application.
Considering the 2013-2014 figures which could be changed, the benefits of the scholarship include
United World College Scholarship $112,000 that is $28,000 each year for 4 years
International Entrance Scholarships $112,000 that is $28,000 each year for 4 years)
Global Leader of Tomorrow Scholarship that is $68,000 17,000 each year for 4 years)
FIELD OF STUDY
Scholarships are awarded for an undergraduatecourse in any one of the following Faculties
Health, Lassonde School of Engineering, Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, Science, Schulich School of Business Arts, Media, Performance & Design, Environmental Studies and Glendon
ELIGIBILITY
SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY
United World College Scholarships
Should be admitted in a United World College and have good academic rating
Should maintain excellent academic standing, (that is 7.80 on a 9-point York scale) in each academic session at York
York university maintains that only one candidate be nominated per school
International Entrance Scholarships
High academic rating
Should have leadership and demonstrated skills
Should provide letters of recommendation
Should have a high academic rating (that is 7.80 on a 9-point York scale) in every academic session at York
Global Leader of Tomorrow Scholarships
High academic rating
Should be nominated by high school
Should have leadership and demonstrated skills
Should have a high academic rating (that is 7.80 on a 9-point York scale) in every academic session at York
GENERAL ELIGIBILITY
Open to students of all countries of the world except nationals of Canada and permanent residents of Canada
You should start applying for September admission
You should gain admission directly from high school not more than two years after graduating
You should be an international student who needs a study permit to study in Canada
You should have top academic record and great leaderships skills and should be excellent in areas like sports, arts and others
HOW TO APPLY
You can apply in two ways, either through the Ontario Universities Application Center (OUAC) or through the York University Application. Deadline for September 2016 entry is February 15 2016 while deadline every year for all applications is March 15
