University of Sydney, Australia is offering eligible candidates the International Research Scholarship for Postgraduate Research Degree or Master’s by Research program. The aim of the USydIS is to target intelligent international postgraduate students to carry out research projects which will improve and develop the research activity of the University.
What Scholarship Covers
The Scholarship duration extends up to three (3) years with prospect addition of one extra semester for PhD students. The number of scholarship awards is not specified by the University of Sydney. The Scholarship takes care of tuition fees and accommodation cost.
Field of Study

Eligibility
International students from all countries are considered eligible to apply for the scholarship. The USydIS is open to all research departments, though participation in the USydIS program each semester is at the prudence of the Dean of each faculty.
The Scholarship will be awarded to qualified candidate twice a year, in October/November in conjunction with the International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) for commencement in Semester 1 (March), and in April for commencement in Semester 2 (July). Mode of Application
- Candidates applying for USydIS do not need any other form of separate application.
- The USydIS is available to applicants beginning in March and July semesters.
- Applicants must specify that they would like to be considered for the IPRS by completing the appropriate section of the Postgraduate Research Application form.

All applications must be received by the International Student Office (ISO) before the stipulated deadlines below:31 July of the previous year for Semester 1 (March) commencement
15 December of the previous year for Semester 2 (July) commencement
