ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarships are for undergraduate, graduates and doctoral students from within and outside Germany as well as for students who share the objectives of the foundation which include ecology, solidarity and non-violence, democracy and taking an active socio-political role.
The foundation has network all over the world with about 30 international offices. The foundation also partners with 16 state-level Boll Foundation in every federal state in Germany and they assist talented and socio-politically inclined undergraduate and graduate students in Germany and outside the country.
The Heinrich Boll Foundation offers scholarships to about 1000 undergraduates, graduates and doctoral students.
FIELD OF STUDY
The scholarships are offered in all courses at universities of applied sciences or universities of arts in Germany.
Students from all countries are eligible for the scholarship
For an undergraduate and graduate scholarship
Students who are ready to enroll in a first degree program and should have obtained their university entrance qualification in Germany
Masters students are not eligible for the scholarship because the foundation aims to assist students for a longer period. Bachelor students who have been offered support may receive more support for a Masters course
Special consideration are given to members of ethnic minority groups, women and also lays emphasis on certain courses like technology, mathematics, science and engineering with specific focus on environmental science, journalism, economic and legal studies and art studies
For doctoral scholarship
Students should be ready to enroll for a doctoral program and should have obtained their university entrance qualification in Germany
Special consideration will be given to dissertation projects that are similar to the working areas of the Heinrich Boll Foundation
It should be noted that applicants from outside Germany usually need to fulfill English language or other language requirement to be able to study in the country.
When applying, copies of other relevant documents should be submitted along with the application including degree certificate, entrance qualification, evidence of proficiency in German language, reference letter on your social commitment and reference letter from university lecturer or school teacher for school leavers.
