Duke University is partnering with MasterCard Foundation to offer scholarships to students from Africa to pursue undergraduate programs at Duke University, USA. Scholarship is fully funded and will cover expenses such as tuition fees, accommodation, living expenses, flight fare etc.
About scholarship
Every year, MasterCard Foundation awards several scholarships to outstanding African students to study at Duke University. The MasterCard Foundation Scholars at Duke University represent the intellect and energy of the youth of Sub-Saharan Africa. With a financial commitment of $13.5 million from The MasterCard Foundation, Duke will educate seven classes of five students — a total of 35 students — over the next 10 years. The MasterCard Foundation Scholars at Duke are provided the educational tools needed to become leaders. Duke recognizes education is a catalyst for social and economic betterment.
Eligibility
In order to apply for the MasterCard foundation scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicant must be a citizen of a Sub-Saharan African country
- Must demonstrate financial need, academic ability and merit, and demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of others in their communities.
