Eiffel Scholarships for international students are been offered by the French ministry of foreign and European affairs.
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
The awards are given to students who want to enroll at a French academic institution for a master’s degree program and a PhD thesis which involves a dual tutoring with a foreign higher academic institution or supervising together.
The Scholarship was formed to assist French centers of higher education with their plans internationally to attract the best students abroad to enroll for master’s, engineering and PhD programs.
For PhD students the scholarship is to be given for a period of 10 months.
For master’s students, the awarded for a period of 12 months when enrolling for M2, 24 months for M1 and 36 months when enrolling for a diploma in engineering science.

The scholarship does not cover cost of tuition. The higher institutions can apply towards this.
French government scholarship student have their enrollment fees at state run centers waived
For PhD students, the scholarship covers costs such as travel expenses, cultural activities and health insurance, in some cases accommodation costs may be given. They will also receive an amount of 1400 Euros.
For master’s students they have costs such as travel, cultural activities and health insurance taken care off. Also they are given an allowance of 1181 Euros. In some cases accommodation costs may be given.
FIELD OF STUDY
Scholarships are awarded for PhD sciences of a wider level, Law and political science, engineering sciences at master’s level and economics and management.
ELIGIBILITY
For master students a maximum age of 30 while PhD students is a maximum age of 35 is required.
The program is for foreign citizens
Students who have a scholarship already from the French government or from another program are not eligible.
Applicants nominated by more than one institution will not be considered.
Successful applicants are likely to undergo training at master’s level and will be attested by a diploma including PhD students and engineering school.
For non-French speaking candidates, provision must be made to make sure that their language capability is at par with what is needed at the training course.
