Each year, the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation awards lots of scholarships to talented high school students to pursue a bachelor’s degree program in the USA. This year, a total of 300 scholarships will be given out to students who have overcome significant obstacles to pursue their educations. These scholars will serve as positive role models and change the trajectories for their families, friends and their communities. The deadline for scholarship application is January 15th 2015.
About scholarship
Since 2004, the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation have provided students with over $60 million in college scholarships and support services. Each year, a total of 300 scholarships are being given out to outstanding low-income, highly motivated students who are better than their numbers indicate and demonstrate the drive to succeed despite personal obstacles. Applicants must have demonstrated grit, potential and ambition in their quest for a college education.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria below:
- Participating in a Michael & Susan Dell Foundation approved college readiness program in grades 11 and 12
- Graduating from an accredited high school this academic year
- Earning a minimum of a 2.4 GPA
- Demonstrated need for financial assistance
- Eligible to receive a federal pell grant in first year of college
- Planning to enroll full-time in a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited higher education institution in the fall directly after your graduation from high school
Fields of study
Scholarships will be provided for students to study approved college readiness programs or courses offered by accredited higher education institutions in USA
What the scholarship covers
A total of 300 scholarships is being given out to outstanding low-income, highly motivated students who are better than their numbers indicate and demonstrate the drive to succeed despite personal obstacles. Each Dell scholar will receive $20,000 each to complete his/her higher education over the course of six years.
How to apply
The mode of application is online. Once you’ve submitted your application, it will be assessed be assessed, and a group of Dell Scholar Semifinalists will be selected. Applicants who make it to the semi-finals will be asked to submit a current copy of their high school transcript, a complete Student Aid Report (SAR) from their FAFSA, and an online recommendation.
