The 2015 AusAid Scholarship which was formally known as the Australian Development scholarship is now open for application. This scholarship is given out by AusAid to students who will like to live and study in Australia. The scholarship is for both undergraduate and postgraduate study in Australia. This scholarship will cover tuition fees, return air travel establishment allowance as well as overseas student health cover.
About scholarship
Australia Awards delivered under the Australian aid program continue a long tradition of development scholarships that have been an important component of the Australian government’s overseas aid program since the 1950s. They aim to:
- develop capacity and leadership skills so that individuals can contribute to development in their home country; and
- build people-to-people linkages at the individual, institutional and country levels.
Australia Awards contribute to the achievement of development objectives across a range of sectors and are a feature of nearly all of Australia’s bilateral aid programs. The Australian Government works closely with its partners in developing countries to ensure that Australia Awards support the development priorities of each country.
Following the Government’s announcement on 17 December 2012 to reprioritise resources within the aid budget, the 2012-13 revised budget estimate for the Australia Awards program is $331 million. The new budget estimate for Education reflects changes to global programs.
