Every year, the UK governments, Institutions of higher learning and other organisations give out lots and lots of scholarships to students who do not have the needed resources to study in the UK. These scholarships are either full or partial where the scholars will still need to contribute a certain amount of money. I have compiled a list of these free scholarships for you. Just go through each scholarship’s requirement, find out if you meet them and apply accordingly. I wish you good-luck in your application!
About 80 Leverhulme Trust Career Fellowships will be offered to citizens of the UK to study at universities or other institution of higher education in the UK. The Trust will contribute 50% of each Fellow’s total salary costs up to a maximum of £23,000 per annum and the balance is to be paid by the host institution. The deadline for scholarship application is 6 March 2014.
The 2014 Manchester Business School of Manchester University MBA scholarships is now open for application. To be considered for this award, applicants will need to submit a complete application to the Full-time MBA. Scholarships ranges from £5000 to £20000 except, Manchester Excellence scholarships ( Two full scholarships worth £38,800 each) and Young Potential Leaders Scholarships(up to £25000). The deadlines for scholarship application are: 3 February 2014, 3 March 2014, 1 April 2014, 1 May 2014, 2 Jun 2014 and 1 July 2014.
2014 University of Nottingham Developing Solutions Masters Scholarships for International Students in UK
The University of Nottingham is giving out developing solutions masters scholarships to students coming from Africa, India and Commonwealth Countries. Up to 150 scholarships will be given out to students who wish to pursue full time masters degree program in the fields of Engineering, Medicine and Health Sciences, Science, Geography, courses related to the area of environment science and society as well as courses related to the area of Science and Business. The deadline for scholarship application is 25th April, 2014. Note that application for admission to study at Nottingham must be received at least six weeks before the scholarship closing date to allow time for our Admissions office to process the application and confirm your offer, before you can apply for the scholarship. Any application for admission to study submitted later than six weeks before the scholarship closing date is not guaranteed to be processed in time
The University of Oxford is giving out over 40 scholarships to international students who wish to study Medieval and Modern Languages, Biomedical Engineering, French History, Electrical Engineering, Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division, Any DPhil, or the MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management; MSc in Contemporary India; Master of Public Policy; MSc in Water Science, Policy and Management; MSc in Environmental Change and Management; and the MPhil in Development Studies etc. This scholarship covers 100% of university and college fees and a grant for living costs. The deadline for scholarship application is is 10th January 2014 for Medical Sciences, Philosophy, Politics & International Relations and Computer Science; 24th January 2014 for all other subjects.
The Sheffield Hallam University is awarding Transform Together scholarships to international students to study any undergraduate or postgraduate program in Sheffield Hallam Universiry. This scholarship will include or cover a one- year full tuition waiver for full time taught postgraduate courses and 50% tuition fee discount for each year of an undergraduate course. The deadline for scholarship application is 31st May 2014.
About 52 scholarships will be given out by University of Glasgow to international students to pursue any master’s degree program in University of Glasgow, apart from clinical programs. 12 scholarships are worth £10,000 and 40 worth £5000. Applicants must achieve the international equivalent of a UK first class honours degree. The scholarship application deadline is 1st June 2014.
St Andrews University is offering for international students to pursue undergraduate courses in the University of St Andrews in the UK. Scholarship covers a reduction in tuition fees of up to £4000 each year of student’s undergraduate studies. This scholarship is awarded to study any undergraduate program in University of St Andrews. The deadline for scholarship application is 21st March, 2014
The university of Sussex is offering up to 100 masters scholarships for talented students to to study at university of Sussex.Scholarships are available for first-class students joining eligible Masters courses at the University of Sussex (excluding the Brighton and Sussex Medical School and IDS). The Scholarships are available only for the first year of postgraduate studies in the case of two year full-time Masters degrees and 1+3 courses. Note that final year students currently studying at UK universities, who have not yet graduated can also apply for this scholarship.

The Manchester Metropolitan University, UK is giving out a number of undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships to international students who enroll on a full time undergraduate/postgraduate taught programmes respectively. The scholarship value is £2500 for undergraduate and £3,000 for post postgraduate programmes. To be eligible for this scholarship, international scholarship applicants must have accepted an unconditional or conditional offer for a course at MMU. All applications should be submitted by 30th June 2014 for undergraduate students and 15th November 2014 for postgraduate students.
Scottish Government and Scottish Higher Education Institutions offer scholarships for Undergraduate, Masters or PhD students in UK. Scholarships are offered on a matched funding basis between these two Institutions. These are available across key priority countries: Canada, China, India and United States of America. Scholarships are provided towards the tuition fees, for any one year of full time study, on an Undergraduate, Masters or PhD course at any of Scotland’s higher education institution. The scheme offers up to 200 awards, each worth £2000. The application deadline is 30th May 2014.
The scholarships are designed to support the promotion of Scotland as a learning nation and a science nation and are therefore targeted at the priority sectors of creative industries, life sciences, technology, financial services and renewable and clean energy. Scholarships are provided in the subject areas of Architecture, Arts and Humanities, Clean and Renewable Energy, Communications, Media and Culture, Design, Earth Sciences, Financial Services, Music and the Performing Arts, Physical and Life Sciences and Technology at any of Scotland’s higher education institutions.
