The Queensland University of Technology is offering equity scholarships for domestic and international students in Australia. These scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, postgraduate research at Queensland University of Technology. Scholarships are provided in the field of Business, Creative Industries, Education, Health, Law and Science and Engineering. The QUT Equity Scholarships Scheme offers about $2.5 million worth of scholarships, bursaries and computers to low-income students each year.

Eligibility
To qualify for this award, and applicant must be:
-from a low-income background
-experiencing financial hardship
-we also take personal hardship into consideration when assessing applications. This includes:
-personal medical conditions
-disabilities
-dependants with special needs.
There are some guarantees with our Equity scholarship:
-If you’re a commencing Smith Family Learning for Life student, you’re guaranteed an Equity Scholarship of $1,250 if you start in Semester 2 or $2,500 if you start in Semester 1. You’re also guaranteed an Equity computer (a reconditioned desktop computer with internet access and a USB drive) if you need one.
-If you’re a commencing Q-Step Scheme student, you’re guaranteed an Equity Scholarship of $1,250 if you start in Semester 2, or $2,500 if you start in Semester 1.
-If you’re a commencing Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student, you’re guaranteed the Equity bursary of $1,000. You won’t receive this bursary if you successfully apply for one or more Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarships.
-You can’t apply if you’re a:
-visiting student
-cross-institutional student
How to apply
The mode of application is online. All applicants must provide the following documents:
-individual bank statements for all bank accounts covering the past two months
-proof of income
-proof of the income of parent(s)/caregiver(s) if financially dependent and/or living at home
-proof of partner’s income (if partnered)
-Centre link Income Statement for Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY or other pension or benefit if you haven’t completed the Centre link consent form
-Australian Taxation Office Notice of Assessment 2012/2013 (please provide us with recent pay slips covering at least two months if you are unable to provide this document). If you are financially dependent on your family and/or living at home you must also supply family income documentation
