1. Grants for foreign and Italian students by the Italian Government
Scholarships are awarded by the Italian government to two categories of students wishing to study in Italy:
- Foreign students and
- Italian students living abroad.
Students at whatever level or course at Italian universities are entitled to apply. However, the duration of the various scholarships is for three, six and nine months only. Though students can always apply for renewals.

3. EDISU Piedmonte Scholarships
The Politecnico of Torino, The University of Eastern Piedmonte and the University of Torino, collectively called the Universities of Piedmonte, are behind this scholarship for non-EU international students.
Part-time students can be considered for this merit-based scholarship if they are enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program.
It is restricted to only full-time Bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees and Ph.D. programs in any of the universities that make up the Universities of Piedmonte.

4. The University of Bologna Scholarship for international students
Brilliant international students offered admission at the University of Bologna can take advantage of the school’s scholarship program.
The scholarship is targetted at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate degree programs for one academic year only and is worth over €11,000.
5. Developing Countries Scholarships of University of Pavia (UNIPV)
This UNIPV-sponsored scholarship is aimed at promoting relations with developing countries. Academically outstanding students from eligible countries are encouraged to apply if they want to pursue a Master’s Degree program taught in English at the University.
The scholarship is worth about €8000 to the successful student.
6. Bocconi University Scholarships for international students
International students offered admission to study at Bocconi University would do well to apply for this scholarship.

The scholarship is for undergraduate and Master’s of science degree programs. It is worth up to €11,500 to cover tuition fees per year for bachelor’s degree programs. For Master’s degrees, the scholarship is also a tuition waiver of about €12,700 annually
7. International Students Merit Scholarships of Politecnico de Milano
Academically brilliant and talented students wishing to pursue a Master’s of Science program at the Politecnico de Milano can apply for this scholarship.
Apart from the tuition fee waiver, successful candidates are also given between €5,000 and €10,000 per year to aid with other expenses. Students offered this scholarship would have to pay an administrative fee of just €200.
8. Politecnico de Torino International Students Scholarships

9. Universitica Cattolica International Scholarships
This scholarship is provided to international students pursuing degree programs in the university. The scholarship is worth about 42% of the total cost of study annually.
10. University of Padova Scholarships for all students
This scholarship is targeted at low-income students either Italian or International.

The funds for the scholarship are provided by the regional government to aid students with good academic records who are also facing financial challenges. The scholarship includes a financial grant to the students and accommodation and meals at the University of Padova cafeteria.

11. Scuola Normale Superiore Ph.D Scholarships
78 full scholarships are up for grabs at this university. Funded by the University, the scholarship is targeted at Ph.D. students from Italy and abroad.
The scholarship covers full tuition fees and cost of living grants for the duration of the program.
