The OPEC Fund for International development (OFID) is offering scholarships to interested students who are interested in furthering their studies.
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship is meant for students, who have completed their undergraduate studies and are interested in enrolling for master studies. The applicants must be from developing countries, except OFID member countries and must seek and gain admission in an important course of development at a recognized college or university around the world.
The scholarship is available to assist and help young, ambitious students to ease the burden of the expenses involved in enrolling for a masters program.
Any higher academic Institution, college and university around the world that is accredited can take part in the scholarship program.
Four awards will be given and a benefit of the scholarship is that $50,000 will be given to successful applicants over two years as they complete their master studies.
FIELD OF STUDY
Scholarships will be awarded in important areas of development and energy studies. The course studied must abide with the essence and what OFID stand for such as economics of development, science and technology areas.
At the time of submitting their applications, candidates should be between the ages of 23-32 years
Should be completing or have completed undergraduate studies and obtained a bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university.
Must be a citizen from a developing country except members from OFID member countries.
Should have obtained at least a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Should be a full time student through out the period and duration of the program.
The course studied must abide with the essence and what OFID stand for such as economics of development, science and technology areas.
