ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship is for studies at master degree level at any university around the world. The duration of the scholarship is for one year and if it extends beyond a year can also be awarded for a second year fully or partly. The scholarship will not be awarded beyond two years.
The scholarship covers the following
Travel expenses from your country to your chosen university at the start of the program and at the end of the program, also a travel allowance of $500 will be given for each trip.
Free tuition is available
Medical insurance will be provided
Accident insurance will be provided
An allowance will be given to cover expenses such as accomodation, food, utility bills, books and others. The amount that will be given depends on the host country
FIELD OF STUDY
The scholarship is awarded to study in fields related to economic development at masters level in any chosen university.
Should be a citizen of a World Bank member country
Should have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent
Should be in good medical condition
Should have at least 2-5 years’ experience after graduating, which should be acquired in your home country or a developing country
Should not be living in a developed country for more than a year
Should not be a citizen or permanent resident of a developed country
Should be born after 31 march 1973
Should have a good behaviour
Should not be a staff of the world bank
Candidates are selected based on the following
Outstanding academic accomplishment
Importance of program to be studied
Consideration is given to those in the public sector with the ability to affect growth and development of their home country after they complete their program.
