2015 Iberdrola Foundation Scholarships at University of Maine and Rochester, USA

The University of Maine and the University of Rochester are accepting applications from international students for Iberdrola Foundation Scholarships for Master’s programs in Energy and Environment in the USA.


The scholarship was created for training and development with special consideration on renewable energy, productivity of the energy system and safety of the environment. Applicants will be selected based on academic grades, reference letters and admission certificate from either University. The scholarship is for a period of one year.

The scholarship covers the following

Registering at the University in the United States with no expenses

A payment of $25.200 to cover expenses for a year, therefore the amount will be divided into monthly payments of $2.100


The scholarships is given in the following areas of Energy efficiency, Energy storage, Electric vehicles and Smart grids, Renewable energies, Sustainable energy systems, The environment, Clean combustion technologies and emissions management.


When submitting their applications, applicants should have a bachelor or masters degree from a well known University

Applicants should not receive any other scholarship or financial support during the time the Iberdrola scholarship is awarded

Applicants who have been awarded scholarships in the past will not be considered

Applicants who have submitted their forms, but who have not registered at the University will not be considered

Applicants with a GPA lower than 7.0 on 10 point scale for Spanish Universities and a GPA lower than 3.5 for USA Universities will not be considered

NOTICE: Successful applicants will be informed of their selection by 31 March 2015, a final list of successful candidates as well as a substitute list will be placed in the Training and Research activity section of the Fundación Iberdrola website on 15 June 2015
