ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship was created by the Department for international development (DFID) in 1986. The scholarship is a partnership between the UK government and UK universities.
About 3500 students from commonwealth developing countries have been awarded shared scholarships so far and about 227 scholarships are available this year. The duration of the scholarship is for one year.
The scholarship covers the following:

FIELD OF STUDY
Scholarships are awarded for master degree courses. The courses that are chosen should be important to the economic, social or technological growth of the applicant’s home country.
Should be a citizen of the Commonwealth, Commonwealth refugees or British protected individuals.
Should reside permanently in a Commonwealth country
Should be ready to start studies in the UK by September/October 2015
Should at least have a second class upper
Should not have been studying in a developed country for up to year
Are not able to pay by themselves or with the help of families or guardians the tuition fees to study in the UK
